Keeping with a theme somewhat, Neko Case is
back doing that thing she does, which is belt out torch songs
like the world was going to end before daylight. She’s
still wronged and out for the dirtiest revenge possible, and
she’s still unapproachably sensual as she does it.
Again, a lot of people have called this her best work to date,
and again I’ll disagree (2000’s Furnace
Room Lullaby gets my vote). But you can’t
go wrong with either.
