2008 was a hell of year, one steeped in history. The world will be reeling for decades based on what happened, and i think that none of us have fully realized the ramifications of what occurred.
Heck, does Axl Rose even realize the ramifications?
So, yes, we now live in an era wherein Chinese Democracy is a reality, and wherein Guns N Roses are a real band, a supergroup actually, having absorbed part of indie rock stalwarts The Replacements.
A truly historic event.
All that, plus elections in the country in which i am currently based.
Exciting times. Oh Axl, where will you lead us next?
As is usual, there is no real consensus among the minions. But in general we seemed to like these albums:
High Places by High Places
Saturdays = Youth by M83
Recievers by Parts & Labor
Object 47 by Wire
Also, if Wire, Spiritualized, or For Against play near you, our experience indicates that the show will be well worth seeing. |
